Community Charity Challenge

1st, June 2018

Workspace Technology strongly believe in supporting local charities. Each year charities are nominated by employees and via a voting process two are chosen to be supported for 12 months.

The two chosen charities for 2018 are SSAFA and Midlands Air Ambulance. However, Workspace Technology also where possible support local people in their charitable quests.

Following a post on a popular Social Media site, Heather Beverley along with three close friends signed up to take on a worthy challenge for one of the UK’s best-loved charities.

Heather Beverley, Kay Neville, Paula Allerton and Pam Byrne are lacing up their walking boots to take on an epic walk across the Peak District in aid of Marie Curie. A charity close to their hearts as unfortunately, every one of the group has known someone close to them that has suffered with cancer and has affected each of the ladies in one way or another.

On 14th July the four trepid walkers will don their walking gear to trek the 27-mile route as part of the Peak District Challenge to raise money for Marie Curie. Taking in the glorious setting of the Peak District National Park in the heart of England the walk will start from the village of Youlgreave, hiking through valleys, over fields and along river banks passing through picturesque hamlets and villages along the way. This is no easy feat for the quartet, subsequently a rigorous training plan is in place to ensure that the challenge is completed in good time.

Marie Curie provide quality nursing care to terminally ill people within the comfort of their own home or within one of their nine hospices.

The team of ladies are hoping to raise at least £1000 and helping to meet that target is Workspace Technology Ltd. Roy Griffiths, Managing Director says ‘we have always supported the local community, employing local companies to undertake third party services where able and undertaking charity events to raise much needed funds. We wish the ladies well in their endeavour!”
