26th, January 2010

Workspace Technology based in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands are one of the UK’s fastest growing Data Centre and Server Room Design and Build specialists.

During 2009 Workspace Technology successfully completed a joint venture data centre design & build project creating a new 120 rack, 1 Megawatt shared services facility. This new data centre primarily houses Barnsley MBC’s computing services with additional spare capacity to support co-location customers. Building on this success, Bull Information Systems has entered a partnership agreement with Workspace Technology to help extend its data centre “Infrastructure” services portfolio within the UK.

Workspace Technology is an approved EC Code of Conduct for Data Centre Efficiency “Endorser” and also an APC “Elite” Data Centre Solutions Partner. This data centre Infrastructure expertise fits well with Bull Information Systems global computer services model and its Bio Data Centre initiative which provides a whole set of solutions and tools to enable organisations to:

Improve the energy efficiency of servers through technologies and services in order to reduce their carbon footprint.

Optimise the topology simplifying and optimising the Data Centre architecture through virtualisation.

Optimise operational process through Service Level Management (SLM).

It is anticipated that this partnership will help Bull expand its data centre services within its extensive public sector and education customer base. Workspace Technology will deliver a range of aisle containment, cooling, power, I.T Infrastructure and environmental / security monitoring technology and will work with Bull on a number of strategic managed services and ICT consolidation projects.
