Workspace Technology was recently selected by the University of Warwick following a rigorous tender process as the preferred partner to renovate and upgrade their University House data centre facility. As part of the project Workspace Technology will stripout existing services and install industry leading adiabatic indirect fresh air cooling manufactured by Excool.
This project represents the first installation to be completed as part of Workspace Technology's recent partnership agreement with Excool. Workspace Technology will be installing three 160kW Excool indirect adiabatic units providing a total cooling capacity of 320kW N+1. The Excool systems will also be configured with 60kW inline chilled water cooling coils providing the ability to provide top up cooling during extreme weather conditions.
As part of the overall renovation Workspace Technology will be undertaking building and civil works, installation of heavy grade raised access floor, electrical distribution systems and UPS upgrades to provide a complete turnkey installation for the University.
Roy Griffiths, Technical Director at Workspace Technology, commented “we are very pleased to secure this project with the University of Warwick. This project further strengthens and demonstrates our position as a leading supplier of Data Centre solutions and services within the Higher Education market sector. This is also our first success in partnership with Excool of which we believe will lead to many more installations for this innovative British technology.”
